Walk In The Rain

Walk in the Rain is an interactive street art project that aims to create visibility for climate research, statistics, and slogans from climate activists, while fostering dialogue and empowering individuals to take action against climate crisis.

The first season of the Walk in the Rain project has been realised in 2023 in Potsdam, Rechenzentrum, as a part of Transformale Festival with the support of Europian Union and Verlaufe.

…HISTORY

Exhibition and accompanying program on ecological processes

The PROGRAMS focus on urban space as part of the planet's ecosphere. Three artistic positions are shown that work with biological, energetic, chemical and meteorological processes within the area around the data center against the background of the climate crisis.

The accompanying program offers the opportunity to become active yourself: to research, investigate or discuss climate issues - and to relate the local conditions to a global perspective.

ARTISTS: Diren Demir - Marta Djourina - Lea Maria Wittich

DIREN DEMIR
WALK IN THE RAIN

The interactive street art project illustrates results and data from climate research. Using stencils and hydrochromic paint, Diren Demir spreads scientific information around the city. The eco-friendly color only becomes visible on contact with water. For this reason, the interventions in the public space remain completely invisible on rain-free days. Tours leading to the graffiti will be offered during the exhibition period, in which Demir, together with the visitors, will examine the environmental features of the Potsdam area in the context of current research. A brochure will be published in parallel with the tours, presenting the exhibition locations and putting the research results into context.
Tours: 29.6. at 7 p.m., 1.7. at 5 p.m.
