My name is Evelína, and I have lived in Pardubice my whole life. I am currently a second-year student at the School of Art and Design in Brno, where I my field of study is Space and Media.

A World Full of Life, Not Concrete.

Hi, I am Evelina. I was born in Chrudim, but I have lived in Pardubice my whole life, and I am 17 years old. I study at Brno School of Arts. I would like to talk about the ministries—the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Culture. We have people there who are not empathetic enough and just don't listen to other people. I think they should talk with people and care about their opinions. They should change things. I think there should be people who listen, who just care about the things that they are there for. I would like to talk about the space behind Afi Palác. The place is all closed. There is a tall building named Hotel Labe, and there is Afi Palác, and the whole space feels like it's falling down on me. It's like a big pressure of the concrete around. And I think it's not the work of the concrete, because concrete can be a really comfortable material when you let it be in smaller pieces, so nature can grow through it. And nature is really not here. Like, there are some trees in the concrete, and there are some benches, and there is one lonely playground. And it's just not made for people. It's a lot of space with little things. And it kind of looks like a backyard, actually. I don't know how to say it differently, because there are, like, concrete walls, and between them are just places with a little bit of grass. And the grass is really short. That shouldn't be, because when it's hot, it just gets burnt. We always have to somehow shape nature, even when we don't have to, because it completely destroys it. And I think that's why I feel the most alien in it, because nature is, like, put into it, and it's not the other way around. The concrete is not put into nature, but nature is put into the concrete. I think, like, at this point, the institutes are trying to solve the landscape architects. And I think it should be like that, because there are people who are just watching some things really closely, and you should always ask them about their opinion. And you should be sensitive to nature, because we want to live in a world that's full of life, not full of concrete.
